Watch Out Amazon: Walmart to Offer Free Shipping during Holiday Season

Have you heard? Walmart's going to be offering free shipping with no minimum on 60,000 items during through December 20. The offer includes all electronics, plus lots of toys, baby items, and other products. Return shipping will also be free. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Amazon, one of Walmart's top competitors in the online shopping game. Amazon and Walmart frequently have similar or identical prices (Amazon makes sure of it), and many people prefer to buy from Amazon because of shipping costs. Hopefully, the extra competition will result in a price-dropping face-off that will benefit us shoppers. A girl can dream. I took a look at Walmart's current shipping specials online, and even though Walmart's press release says the free shipping with no minimum deal is on now, all I'm seeing is their "HomeFree" promo which requires a $45 minimum purchase. The New York Times article I've linked to below says the free shipping deal starts tomorrow (Thursday), so check back then.
